Dane Anderson is a member of our Retail and M&A practices. He has worked with many large retailers ($20B+) and his work primarily supports major transformations. His M&A project portfolio includes due diligence, pre-merger planning, and post-merger transformation for both corporate and private equity clients.
Dane is also a member of our Higher Education and K-12 Education practices. As a former COO and CFO of a large school system in Washington, DC, he brings a tremendous amount of experience for clients looking to work with or adjacent to schools.
Dane is what we call a boomerang Bainie - someone that leaves Bain (in 2015) and comes back, which he did in 2023. Before joining Bain (the first time), Dane was a math teacher in rural New Mexico as a Teach for America Corps member.
In his personal time, Dane is an avid outdoorsman - running, skiing, and, most importantly, fly fishing. He and his family (wife and two kids) live in Washington, DC.
Dane obtained dual degrees in political science and economics from the University of North Carolina and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
