John Fildes

John Fildes leads our APAC Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, and Financial Services Market Infrastructure practices and is also a member of our Private Equity practice. 

A 30-year capital market veteran, John has managed businesses, projects, and industry associations across Australia and the greater Asia-Pacific region, as well as Europe and the Americas. His client work centers on market microstructure, electronic trading, liquidity development, as well as equities, indices, derivatives, and increasingly digital assets, crypto, and carbon trading.

Prior to joining us, John served as CEO of Chi-X Australia. He previously held various strategic and business development roles at capital market infrastructure and broader financial institutions, including Morgan Stanley,  Instinet, Getco, and The Financial Times.

In his personal time, John has been both Global and APAC Regional co-Chair of the FIX Protocol organization. He has also served on HKEx’s Consultation Committee on Clearing, the SGX’s Derivatives Advisory Committee, and as a director of the Stockbroker’s Association of Australia.
