How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
I got to know Bain long before I applied through a mentor who worked here. What stood out was how much time he invested in my growth, not because he had to, but because he genuinely cared. As I met more people at Bain, I realized that wasn't unique to him. I kept meeting people who were incredibly smart and generous with their time, and eventually it stopped feeling like a coincidence and started feeling like the culture.
“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”
What I've come to appreciate about "Build Your Own Bain" is that there's no single blueprint for what your experience should look like. You're encouraged to be your own advocate, whether that's developing a particular skill set, exploring a new industry, spending time in PEG, or pursuing opportunities outside of casework. Bain provides a tremendous amount of flexibility, and I've found that if there's something you're genuinely excited about, people are willing to help you make it happen.
What should candidates know?
Be yourself during recruiting. The more authentic you are, the easier it is for interviewers to get to know the real you. I would also encourage candidates to treat interviews as conversations rather than interrogations. Bain is looking for people they would genuinely enjoy working with, so focus less on having the "perfect" answer and more on sharing your thought process and experiences in a genuine way.
