As an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University pursuing dual degrees in business and liberal arts, I wanted the opportunity to combine both skillsets and tackle unique, challenging problems. I learned about consulting by joining on-campus consulting organizations and networking with recent alumni in the field. Despite falling short of an ACI position in the interview process, I continued to stay connected to and case with Bainies from Ohio State until eventually receiving a full-time offer. Throughout the journey, the strong relationships I made with Bainies and support I received along the way solidified my decision to work at Bain!
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
You'll hear most Bainies mention the people as their driving factor toward working at Bain, and it's no different for me. Everyone truly wants to see each other succeed, whether that's personally or professionally. During the recruitment process, I also found that Bain was the most sincere firm in describing the work their consultants do and the tradeoffs that come with working alongside exciting clients and their complex problems.
“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”
Alongside traditional client work, I've had the opportunity to connect with other Bainies through a variety of Extra 10s - Bain's version of college organizations / clubs. I'm on the Bain Hoops / basketball team, where we play in a league against other teams around Chicago. Also on the sports side, I run Bain Chicago's Cubs ticket auction that offers discounted baseball seats to office employees. Further, Bain prides itself on social impact work, and through Bain's Inspire chapter, I worked with a local school district to design a calendar of events for their guidance counselors to support students in their postsecondary endeavors.
