David G. Sanderson joined the firm in 1989 and founded Bain Los Angeles in 1995. He also founded and led the global Media and Entertainment practice, and served as co-head of the global Technology, Media & Telecom practice. He also served as a leader of our Private Equity practice.
He has broad experience across the media and entertainment landscape, including content (film, TV, video games, social media and digital), distribution (streaming, theatrical exhibition, networks, gaming platforms, social media platforms), live entertainment, and sports. He has also advised private equity investors focused on the media sector and has worked across a range of technology and telecommunications segments.
David has worked with clients on major business transformations, addressing topics such as corporate and business-unit strategy, operational improvement, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational design.
David co-founded a number of technology businesses and sits on several private boards. He previously sat on the boards of United Way of Greater Los Angeles and the UCLA Johnson Cancer Center Foundation.
He earned an MBA, with honors, from Stanford University, an MS in computer science from Syracuse University, and a BS in applied math and computer science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
