Teresa Cowherd

Teresa Cowherd is our Chief Learning Officer. She holds more than 15 years of experience in running learning and development programs at Bain, as well as 12 years in a client-facing role.

Teresa is currently responsible for internal learning and development at Bain, including global training programmes at all levels, induction and local office training, as well as digital learning. She is also responsible for helping our global Bain Academy build its offering and expertise.

Since joining Bain in 1990, Teresa has also worked as a consultant to clients across Europe, North America and Asia.  Her experience spans numerous industries, including utilities, food retail and manufacturing, as well as financial services. She has extensively advised clients in such spheres as international expansion, customer strategy and cost reduction. 

During her tenure at Bain Teresa has also spent time working in Asia and, during this period, helped launch the firm’s Hong Kong office.

She graduated from Christ’s College Cambridge, where she studied maths and economics, and also holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Previously, she worked in strategy development for Diageo.
