Press release
BOSTON—Jan. 5, 2022—Bain & Company announced today that Thierry Depeyrot, a leader within the firm's Technology and Customer Strategy & Marketing practices, is stepping into a new role as general manager of the firm’s Coro business unit. This business unit brings together Bain’s proprietary suite of software as a service (SaaS) and data as a service (DaaS) tools, including cloud-based software, online capability assessments and advanced analytics, focused on enabling Commercial Excellence for all B2B companies.
In his new role, Thierry will lead the growth of Coro product suite, expanding the Coro team and accelerating the underlying technology development, with the goal of enabling every B2B go-to-market organization to improve their performance.
By leveraging proprietary solutions across a range of go-to-market challenges – such as opportunity mapping, account planning, indirect channel growth and price realization – this new investment by the firm reflects the importance that Bain holds towards SaaS and DaaS tools, as well as the growth opportunity they represent. Prominent examples include:
- MoneyMapSM: Achieve visibility into full potential spend at the customer and product level so you can deploy sales capacity and align marketing activities against the right accounts, targeting the right products
- Coro Account Planning: Build, execute and track account plans that increase pipeline
- Partner Sonar: Identify channel partners with the specific capabilities needed to grow in any country across the world
- Profit Cube: Understand true economic profitability on multiple dimensions (geography, product, customer segment) at the transaction level, enabling robust analytics and actionable insights
“This is a pivotal moment for Bain, demonstrating our commitment to helping our clients gain a competitive-edge and, ultimately, win in the market,” said Mark Kovac, who leads Bain & Company’s B2B Commercial Excellence practice. “We see immense potential for the Coro product portfolio, as organizations race to compete in a new digital arena, and we are delighted to have found the right leader to spearhead this venture.”
As a Bain Partner, Thierry has been focused on growth strategy and commercial excellence for fast-growing and innovative technology firms. In the process, he led the development of Bain’s proprietary qualitative and quantitative software benchmarks, as well as the development of Bain’s Partner Sonar DaaS solution, a constantly expanding and proprietary database of 420,000 channel partners.
Prior to Bain, Thierry served as general manager for a business serving semiconductor fabless companies, covering everything from product development to marketing, including setting the product roadmap and development processes. He also previously served as a sales leader for this same tech company, building sales teams from scratch to cover both the US and Southern Europe markets and then leading global sales, successfully driving major growth.
