NEW YORK—February 5, 2024—Bain & Company has appointed Mikaela Boyd to lead its Americas Financial Services practice. Mikaela, whose time at Bain spans 17 years, will remain based in Bain’s New York office, where she has a track record of successfully advising Financial Services clients, primarily those from within the Payments sector, to address their most pressing business issues. This includes generative AI, in which Boyd is a leading expert.
In her new role, Mikaela is poised to leverage her expertise in generative AI and other forces transforming the space, to lead Bain’s Financial Services partner team and their clients in this critical moment. This includes leveraging and integrating Vector℠; Bain’s integrated digital delivery platform which provides clients with leading innovation and automation capabilities.

To date, Bain’s global Financial Services practice has worked with 95% of the world’s top 15 global banks, and all top five multiline insurance companies. The firm’s offerings span every corner of the industry, including banking, payments, insurance, wealth and asset management, and capital markets—all of which are met with a wide range of cutting-edge capabilities to address areas such as growth and innovation strategy, sustainability, customer experience design, M&A, and large-scale transformation.

In particular, she is known for her leadership among women at Bain and beyond, serving as a strategic advisor and mentor to several women-owned businesses and brands.
Prior to joining Bain, Mikaela held strategy and operating roles throughout the independent sector. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Boston College.
