WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
You’ll join the Americas Accounting team within Bain’s Global Financial Accounting function. This team manages core financial operations for our Americas offices and plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll handle a broad range of general ledger activities across multiple Bain offices in the Americas (US and Latam). You’ll play a key role in the month-end close process, partner with stakeholders across Finance, FP&A, and HR, and contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts. - Performing month-end financial close tasks, including preparing journal entries and reviewing workpapers.
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations across various areas.
- Leading analytical procedures such as month-over-month fluctuation analysis and financial reviews.
- Supporting the creation of monthly reporting packages for leadership.
- Coaching and training junior team members while supporting their development.
- Maintaining documentation and controls for accounting and reporting processes.
- Assisting with internal and external audits and identifying opportunities to strengthen controls.
- Contributing to various projects and helping drive improvements to our close process and operational efficiency.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a strong accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and brings solid technical fundamentals along with regional awareness.
You should have:
- 4–6 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Strong accounting fundamentals and knowledge of financial controls
- High-level understanding of US GAAP, particularly related to reconciliations and reporting
- Strong knowledge of Mexico accounting and regulatory requirements (mandatory)
- Experience with accounting practices in at least one Latin American country. (mandatory)
- Experience working with or overseeing outsourced accounting providers (preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (written and spoken)
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP S4 HANA Cloud is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
