Position Summary

Global Training at Bain builds capabilities through a range of learning options. This includes live virtual and in-person programs, apprenticeship, coaching, mentoring, social, and self-directed digital learning. We are expanding the range and reach of digital/online learning at Bain through “next generation” content and engaging learner experiences. 

The Manager, Digital Learning Systems will work within Bain’s Global Training team to provide technical and functional support to the core learning platform (Springboard). This will include system updates, integrations, analysing new functionality and its impact, and configuration changes to enable new features. Other responsibilities of this role include measuring learning impact through reporting solutions, drawing insights to influence product decisions, and maintenance of technical standards (xAPI and SCORM) in integrations and platform standards audits.

Essential Functions:

Support, configure and administer learning systems, and system upgrades 

  • Build and maintain deep technical knowledge of all relevant learning platforms and content technology (i.e., LMS/LXP, eLearning software, video delivery system, content libraries)
  • Troubleshoot customer requests raised through ServiceNow tickets and maintain the agreed SLAs
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure learning technology is fully operational; react quickly and efficiently to customer feedback/requests including troubleshooting or escalation
  • Develop test plans, monitor acceptance criteria, communicate new feature releases, and coordinate with vendor/Bain's Technology Services Group (TSG) for resolution
  • Test and maintain technical integration with other Bain HR and content systems
  • Serve as advisor to Global Training team for process improvements to global/local system functionality
  • Review upcoming product updates from the LXP supplier and identify potential backlog items that may be impacted


Use robust analytics to drive adoption and utilization of Springboard 

  • Audit and maintain all learning records and ensure consistency and quality of all data from learning systems (LXP, Google Analytics); improve analytics over time
  • In coordination with Analytics team, develop a set of regular metrics to support analysis and measurement of self-directed content effectiveness
  • Analyse learning data and learning dashboards to advise suitable adoption initiatives
  • Actively promote the learning systems and functionality across general consulting and business function/expert/engine 2 employees globally
  • Draw conclusions from data, identify key trends and making recommendations


Programs manage and coordinate technology initiatives within learning ecosystem 

  • Work in an agile environment to ensure product backlog items are tracked and updated in Trello boards
  • Support the Product Manager with project management activities, providing timely and accurate information
  • Maintain plans, records, spreadsheets, trackers and databases
  • Create high-quality, accurate documentation, including meeting minutes
  • Manage and drive data analysis within the coordination team and communicate to stakeholders
  • Anticipate risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action as appropriate


Communicate and present insights to diverse audience across the organisation 

  • Use Bain tools and presentation templates to ensure that insights drawn are communicated across the organisation
  • Share frequent progress updates with our team, and stakeholders

Education 

Required - BA/BS or equivalent, with strong academic credentials or equivalent experience 

Preferred - Any certification or diploma in learning technologies, system implementation, and learning data analysis

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with learning or HR technology tools (learning management systems, learning experience platforms, eLearning authoring software, content management systems, etc.); experience with implementations a plus.
  • Experience with learning standards including SCORM, AICC, and/or xAPI for learning data analysis
  • Reporting tools and experience in analysing large data sets and using the information for continuous improvements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including dynamic formula construction, nested formulas and VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and other Office products (Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred

  • Experience with LRS databases to derive insights
  • SQL or Relational Database Management Experience
  • Experience working for a global company and coordinating complex schedules

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Experience in computer systems validation, and learning management functional systems domain
  • Data analysis in the context of tracking budget, penetration of trainings, talent
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and demonstrated experience with reporting and presentation tools required
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization
  • Time management and the ability to prioritize set goals and finish deliverables on time
