Sonal Dash is a member of our Private Equity and Retail practices.
Sonal re-joined Bain in 2022 after serving as Vice President in the Commercial team at Asda, leading the P&L for categories such as Health & Beauty, Baby, Household, Paper, Pet Care as well as for the Pharmacy and Optical operations.
Prior to Asda, Sonal was Group Corporate Development and M&A Director at Sky, responsible for identification and execution of strategic business opportunities and was also the Vice President at Tate & Lyle leading the company-wide Strategy, Planning and M&A teams.
Before her experience in the corporate sector, Sonal was in advisory as an Associate Partner at Bain & Company and worked with many of the consumer goods and retail companies, across food and beverage, and personal care. Her experience includes commercial due diligence for corporate clients and financial sponsors in consumer & retail, post merger integration for ~$20B global consumer goods companies and cost transformation for a grocery retailer in South Africa.
Sonal holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Masters from The London School of Economics and Political Science and earned her undergraduate degree from SRCC, Delhi University.
Outside of Bain, Sonal is also a Member Board of Trustees for Right to Play UK, a non-profit with a mission to protect, educate and empower children to rise above adversity using the power of play.
In her personal time, Sonal is an avid reader of magical realism novels and follower of the latest trends in interior design. She is married and has a young daughter.
