About Marco

Marco Caldarelli is the Head of our Consumer Products practice in Italy and a member of our Retail practice.

With over 15 years of experience, Marco focuses on growth strategy, customer strategy, route-to-market, marketing and sales excellence, revenue growth management (RGM), zero-based budgeting, and operating model design. He is known for his hands-on approach with clients and for delivering pragmatic, high-impact solutions. On occasion, he has stepped into interim management roles to support clients during transitional periods.

Marco has supported large-scale, multi-year transformation programs across the United States, Western and Eastern Europe, and Turkey. His work spans value creation plans, corporate strategy, micro-battle-led transformation, digital enablement, and cost transformation. He has led complex efforts across a range of business models, including B2B, B2C, e-commerce, recommendation platforms, three-tier distribution, contract sales, and inside sales.

He has worked across a broad set of consumer products categories, including food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and semi-durable goods such as design furniture and small domestic appliances. He brings particular depth in chilled, frozen, and shelf-stable product segments.

Marco holds an MBA from Bocconi School of Management in Milan and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in mechanical engineering. Prior to joining Bain, he served as an Officer in the Italian Air Force.
