Tech Execs Lack Confidence in System Integrators

Three out of four tech leaders believe that agentic AI will fundamentally reshape enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) over the next three years (see “How Soon Will Agentic AI Redefine Enterprise Resource Planning?”). But these executives don’t have much confidence in the capabilities of their systems integrator (SI) partners to support such a critical transformation. Many companies contract system integrators to design, implement, and manage their technology programs, sourcing expertise they may lack in-house. But Bain’s recent research found that only 6% of tech execs surveyed would recommend their SI partner for upgrading ERP systems. As a group, the system integrators received a customer satisfaction score of negative 38, with a common complaint being that they lacked the experience or competence necessary to implement an ERP transformation in the age of agentic AI.
