Share your journey to Bain.
My journey to Bain was shaped by a lifetime pull towards o environments that prioritize consistent learning and dynamic teams. Throughout my time at McGill, I learned that I was most energized when surrounded by others that challenge me to grow and consistently learn.
This motivation drew me to Bain's CREW program. As a part of the inaugural cohort, I was introduced to Bain's approach to problem solving, goal setting, and (most importantly) the emphasis on building a supportive network. What stood out wasn’t just the rigor of the work, but the sense of community within the office. It became clear to me that Bain was a place where people invest in each other’s success, and I knew it was somewhere I wanted to begin my career.
Reflecting on my time as an Associate Consultant, I am pleased to see that the professional and personal development that I sought after is satisfied on a daily basis. Each day brings a new question and a new way of thinking about it, constantly pushing me to expand how I approach problems and lean on those around me.
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
At McGill, I built strong relationships with upper-year mentors through classes and extracurriculars. I quickly noticed a pattern: the people I connected with most were often headed to Bain, whether through ACI or as incoming ACs. As I met more individuals from the Toronto office, that same theme stood out, a genuine culture of mentorship and investment across all tenures. It became clear that Bain was a place where people truly invest in one another, and I knew that was the kind of environment I wanted to be part of.
That investment has only grown since joining full-time. Through global trainings and case teams, I’ve built connections with colleagues across Bain’s network, gaining exposure to new ways of working while experiencing the same strong culture and operating principles across every office. It really feels like the best of both worlds: a close-knit office community paired with a truly global network.
Share some of your favorite work (personal or professional) you’ve done while at Bain.
Coming from a background in finance, I was excited by the opportunity to gain early exposure to Bain’s Private Equity practice. As an ACI, I worked on commercial due diligences and saw firsthand how Bain supports clients navigating evolving investment environments across a wide range of industries and deal sizes.
One of my favorite aspects of the work has been the level of ownership you get early on. From day one, teams are intentional about investing in your development and giving you meaningful, high-impact work. Within just a few weeks on my first case, I was building a pricing and discount model that directly informed the client’s valuation.
What stood out to me was how supported I felt while stepping outside my comfort zone. Bain creates an environment where you are encouraged to stretch, but always with the guidance and backing of your team. That combination of ownership, impact, and support is what has made my experience so rewarding.
