Hubert Shen is a senior partner and leads Bain's Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity practices in Los Angeles. He advises clients across the firm on AI strategy and implementation, with a focus on how generative AI is reshaping deal diligence, value creation, and portfolio strategy. He works most deeply with alternative asset managers and with media and entertainment companies.
Hubert partners with corporate acquirers and leading alternative asset managers to pressure-test investment theses, shape value creation plans, and build the diligence and operating playbooks that translate strategy into realized returns. AI is increasingly central to this work — both as a lens for evaluating where value is created or eroded across portfolios, and as a capability embedded in how diligence and value creation get done.
He joined Bain in 2007 after working in corporate finance at The Walt Disney Company and Johnson & Johnson. Hubert holds a Bachelor of Science from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with concentrations in Finance and Management
