Thomas Lustgarten

Thomas Lustgarten leads our global Advanced Manufacturing & Services practice and serves on the firm’s global Board of Directors.

With nearly three decades of professional experience, Thomas is advising clients on strategy-driven transformations and performance improvement programs. Together with his teams, he is implementing value creation plans, merger acquisitions, organizational transformations, and digitalization programs. His clients are from various sectors in the industrial sphere, such as machinery, automotive, construction & building products, and B2B services. Beyond that, he is also affiliated to Bain’s Financial Services and Strategy practices.

After 13 years as managing partner of Bain’s Swiss business, Thomas still supports – as Chairman for Switzerland – the continuous growth of our Zurich office and its high-performing international team.

Prior to joining our firm, he worked in power plant construction for ABB, where he managed international projects, particularly across Asia and Europe. Thomas earned an MBA from INSEAD and an M.Sc. in electrical engineering from ETH Zurich. He is married with three children.
