About Shintaro
Expertise
Shintaro has extensive experience leading large-scale corporate transformations across a wide range of industries, including advanced manufacturing and automotive, logistics, technology, consumer products, and retail. His expertise spans business portfolio management, business model transformation, capital strategy, and corporate governance reform.
He served as Managing Partner of Bain & Company Japan from 2014 to 2021, became Chairman of Bain Japan in 2022, and has been a member of Bain's Global Board of Directors since 2024. In July 2025, he assumed the role of Regional Managing Partner for Asia-Pacific.
Before joining Bain in 2003, Shintaro began his career at Central Japan Railway Company. He received an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BA from Kyoto University.
