Bain & Company's annual survey of more than 7,000 consumers in Europe, the US and the BRICS countries gives a clear picture of the audience for the third wave of media. A new segment of content consumers, mostly under the age of 25 but also some who are older, prefer digital media.
In developed economies, 63% of adults over 35 watch videos online, 93% listen to digital music and 34% read e-books. The third-wave video game Candy Crush Saga went from 100 million monthly unique users to 350 million in one year.
