David Burns

David Burns is a leader in our Advanced Manufacturing & Services (Industrials) practice, where he leads work for our B2B Commercial Excellence solution, which is focused on helping clients drive organic growth, share gain, and improve pricing outcomes.

Since joining Bain in 2006, David has advised a range of industrial clients, from upstream chemicals and raw materials clients to downstream machinery, distribution, and discrete manufacturing clients. He has focused most of his work on building new capabilities and driving results in the commercial front end of organizations, transforming how companies go to market.

Prior to joining Bain, David worked at McMaster-Carr in a general management role, specializing again in driving improvement in the commercial side of the business.

David earned an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a double major in mechanical engineering and economics.
