Singapore – 10 April, 2019 – Bain & Company announced today that Jean-Pierre Felenbok, a nearly 40-year veteran of the firm, will assume the role of managing partner for the firm’s Southeast Asia region. Mr. Felenbok will continue to be based in the Singapore office.

“Jean-Pierre is a trusted partner, who has always focused on delivering the best to our clients, teams and the firm, so it will be exciting to see him continue to build our already successful SEA region.” said Manny Maceda, Bain & Company’s Worldwide Managing Partner. “As we continue to focus on delivering enduring results for our clients, and inspiring Bain’s people, Jean-Pierre’s unparalleled knowledge of the firm, experience and leadership will be a pivotal building block for our long term goals and I congratulate him on this appointment.”

Mr. Felenbok was most recently head of Bain & Company’s Jakarta’s office and under his leadership has successfully grown the Indonesian business and team over the last 6 years, as well as built enduring relationships with a number of change oriented clients across sectors in the very competitive market. He has also launched some of the firms’ cutting edge new products focused around digital transformation (microbattles, BAT) and adapted them to an emerging markets context to great effect, while also serving in a number of servant leader missions and boards at Bain.

In his new role, Mr. Felenbok will be focused on helping to build the next chapter of enduring client success stories in the region, by focusing on transformational long-term relationships and guiding the next generation of client leaders to carry on the Bain mission of pushing our clients’ industries and our own to new heights. He’ll also be responsible for investing in the firm’s internal capacities and partnership ecosystem to be the go-to firm for technology/digital/analytics breakthroughs in each sector, ensuring Bain remains the employer of choice for diverse talent in the region.

“I am excited to take on this leadership role in a very dynamic region and at a time of unprecedented change and innovation” said Mr. Felenbok. “We have an exceptionally talented team of consultants that will help our clients across Southeast Asia achieve their full potential including supporting them in digitally transforming their businesses and developing new, innovative business models in light of technological disruption in their industries.”

Mr. Felenbok takes over the role from Satish Shankar, who was recently promoted to Managing Partner for Bain & Company’s Asia Pacific Region. Under his tenure, the company experienced strong double digit growth across the region, with a strong emphasis on making Bain the best place for business talent, building a strong track record of driving tangible results with clients, and helping to develop the firms’ new offices in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand into some of the most successful growth pillars for the firm. Bain & Company is increasingly seen as the firm to go to for transformations and digital solutions in SEA.
