US bank profit won't return to its pre-crisis peak until 2013 at the earliest, according to Bain & Company. Despite recent rallies in some bank earnings, long-term sources of profitability for U.S. financial services companies have shifted dramatically, setting the stage for a major contraction in the sector, Bain says.
