How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
I knew Bain was the right fit during the interview process. While I was studying abroad on Prince Edward Island, Hurricane Fiona, one of the most powerful storms in Canadian history, hit the island. Between a tree falling on my house, losing power, and having no internet, interviewing suddenly became much more challenging. The Bain San Francisco recruiting team responded with empathy and flexibility, and it showed me the kind of teammates I could expect at Bain.
“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”
For me, “Build Your Own Bain” has meant building a strong community of mentors and peers. Many have invested in my growth and become trusted advisors and friends. As I’ve become more senior, I’m doing my best to pay it forward by helping those who have come after me forge their own paths and communities as well.
What should candidates know?
Preparation matters in the interview process, but so does adaptability. Some of the best conversations happen when things don’t go exactly as planned and you have the opportunity to show how you think on your feet. And if you make a mistake - that’s okay! What is equally, if not more, important is how you pick yourself up afterward and keep moving forward. Own it, correct it, and keep rolling.
