Share your journey to Bain.

It became clear to me pretty early in grad school that I didn't want to be a career academic, a realization that inevitably leads already overworked grad students into a frenzy of trying to figure out the future. Through some trial and error of career exploration in my middle years of grad school, I landed on consulting as the best choice as a career that's still intellectually stimulating but has the potential to have more of an immediate and visible impact on the world around us. I jumped in head-first and became the president of Princeton's graduate consulting club and worked on several pro-bono engagements that really strengthened my desire to pursue consulting as a career. From there, I applied to a few of the top firms and decided that Bain was the best fit for me.

How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?

The culture at Bain sets us apart from our direct competitors as well as our commitment to working with our clients rather than to just deliver them a report or market study. On a day-to-day basis, it's amazing working with other Bainies that are committed to collectively providing the best-case team experience possible. Similarly, the way we work shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients builds stronger, lasting, and pleasant relationships.

Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?

I've done a variety of work at Bain, but all of it has certainly felt impactful. From working with smaller clients on board-level strategy that has an immediate impact on the broader corporate roadmap, to working with very large clients whose decisions impact society at large. The opportunity to continue working on these kinds of decisions, particularly those related to the energy transition, is something I find quite exciting.
