Gary serves as our global Chief Risk Officer and is a leader in our Financial Services practice. He is also an active contributor to our Strategy and Results Delivery® practices. He previously led our Asia-Pacific Financial Services practice, and his prior governance experience includes leading the firm’s CPC, serving on our global Board of Directors, and chairing our Nominating Committee.
With 35 years of management consulting experience across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the UK, and the US, Gary focuses on corporate and business unit strategy, customer strategy, performance improvement and transformation. He has expertise in international growth strategy and was executive general manager for international business at Commonwealth Bank of Australia before returning to Bain in 2004.
Gary is also an experienced independent director and has served in the health and education sectors. He was a founding board member of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse cancer centre, and chaired the Board of Governors of Wenona School for Girls in Sydney for over a decade.
Gary holds an MBA, with distinction, from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MA in philosophy, politics and economics from Brasenose College, University of Oxford.
