We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. We are currently the top ranked consulting firm on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list and have earned the #1 overall spot a record seven times. Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join Bain’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, working closely with the Senior Manager, ERM, and senior stakeholders across the firm. Our team helps Bain identify, assess, and respond to strategic, operational, geopolitical, reputational, and emerging risks. You'll collaborate with colleagues across functions and regions to strengthen our risk management practices, support informed decision-making, and promote a strong risk culture throughout the firm.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As a Manager in our Enterprise Risk Management team, you’ll play a key role in strengthening how we identify, assess, and manage risks across Bain. You’ll lead enterprise risk initiatives, translate complex internal and external developments into practical recommendations, and help shape the frameworks, policies, and governance that support our strategic objectives.
Your work will span a wide range of risk topics and emerging challenges, giving you opportunities to engage with senior leadership, contribute to Board-level reporting, and influence decisions across the firm.
You’ll also help advance our ERM capabilities by improving processes, data, and tools, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and strengthening risk awareness and ownership across Bain.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of enterprise risk frameworks, methodologies, policies, controls, and governance processes, ensuring they remain aligned with Bain’s strategic objectives and risk appetite.
- Analyze complex enterprise and emerging risks using quantitative and qualitative evidence, external research, scenario analysis, and stakeholder insights to identify implications and recommend practical actions.
- Develop clear, decision-focused risk reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership, risk committees, and the Board, highlighting material developments, implications, and recommended actions.
- Lead cross-functional risk initiatives across teams and regions, setting priorities, coordinating workstreams, engaging senior stakeholders, and delivering practical solutions.
- Identify and implement improvements to ERM processes, data, and technology, collaborating with relevant teams from requirements gathering through implementation and adoption.
- Provide guidance and coaching to colleagues, helping strengthen risk management capabilities, collaboration, and risk awareness across the firm.
ABOUT YOU
- You bring typically 5+ years of relevant professional experience in risk management, strategy, consulting, legal, compliance, policy, international business, or another field involving complex analysis and senior stakeholder engagement. We welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience outside traditional risk functions.
- You hold a master’s degree in a relevant field.
- You have strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate complex information, and develop practical, well-supported recommendations.
- You demonstrate sound business and risk judgment, with an understanding of how strategic, operational, geopolitical, regulatory, and reputational risks can influence business decisions.
- You communicate clearly and confidently, translating complex topics into concise, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- You build strong relationships, work effectively across functions and seniority levels, and confidently navigate different perspectives while constructively challenging ideas.
- You have proven project leadership skills, including the ability to structure complex initiatives, prioritize effectively, coordinate teams, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- You are collaborative, proactive, and pragmatic, with a hands-on approach, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering results.
- You are fluent in English.
