I studied Natural Science at university, and whilst interested in my degree, I knew I wanted to pursue a career outside of science. I chose a graduate role in Investment Banking, and opted to join a Healthcare team. I was energized by the opportunity to apply the learnings from my degree into a corporate setting.
After 2 years in the banking industry, I decided to make a career change. I was drawn to management consulting due to its highly collaborative nature, the opportunity to tackle real-world challenges, and the diverse range of experiences it offers... I haven't looked back since.
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
When applying to Bain, three key things stood out to me: the people, the emphasis on professional development, and the dedication to DE&I. Throughout the interview process, I consistently encountered Bainies who were not only willing to help but also demonstrated a strong sense of teamwork. Through these interactions, I gained insight into Bain's approach to learning and development, where there is a strong focus on professional growth both within your role and beyond. Bain also demonstrated a clear commitment and to DEI within the organisation, with clients and more broadly in society, which is of great importance to me.
Share some of your favorite work (personal or professional) you’ve done while at Bain.
My favorite case to date has been working on a social impact project aimed at increasing Black talent representation in financial, professional, and legal services. This project involved conducting extensive interviews with Black heritage students and performing detailed analytics on university and employer data. While many of the insights from the data were challenging, my case team was passionate about driving meaningful change. It was inspiring to contribute to a project that has a tangible impact on students who are in the same position I was just a few years ago!
