Description & Requirements

WHAT MAKES US A GREAT PLACE TO WORK
We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. We are currently the #1 ranked consulting firm on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list and have maintained a spot in the top four on Glassdoor’s list since its founding in 2009.

Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join our Global Financial Accounting team, supporting Bain offices across the Americas region. Based in São Paulo, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate daily with local and regional teams in Finance, FP&A, Tax, HR, and other business functions. You'll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members while contributing to high-impact projects and reporting cycles.

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll lead key components of the monthly financial close process, manage complex reconciliations, support audits, and drive continuous improvements in controls and operations. You'll serve as a technical expert in US GAAP, while also being a visible collaborator across finance—balancing competing priorities during close cycles and helping strengthen trust and alignment across internal and external stakeholders.

This role follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least 2 days per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close activities
  • Serve as a key liaison with FP&A, tax, and audit teams, building strong relationships and helping resolve questions around financial performance
  • Lead the preparation of internal reporting packages and variance analysis
  • Review workpapers and assist in analytical reviews to support accuracy and compliance with US GAAP
  • Support internal and external audit processes, maintaining documentation and strengthening controls
  • Train and coach junior accountants; contribute to team development and performance reviews
  • Participate in process improvement and efficiency initiatives related to the close cycle and reporting

ABOUT YOU

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Active CRC (Conselho Regional de Contabilidade) license
  • 4–6 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in a global environment
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and month-end close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, analytics)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • High sense of ownership, integrity, and professional skepticism
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Nice to Have (Can Be Trained)

  • Experience working in a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Familiarity with SAP S4 HANA Cloud or other ERP systems
  • Experience mentoring or training junior team members
