How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
One of the biggest things that drew me to Bain was the people. Before joining, I had the chance to chat with Bainies at recruiting events and was struck not only by how dedicated and excited they were about the work they were doing, but also by how genuinely they seemed to know and care for one another personally and professionally. It made me realize that I wanted to be part of a team with a similar culture, one where people are not only passionate about delivering meaningful results but also take the time to build real connections and support each other along the way.
Since joining, I can confidently say I’ve seen this culture come to life in every part of my Bain experience! My colleagues have supported me in countless ways, ranging from helping me develop new skills and thinking through how to solve tough challenges to cheering me on as I pursue personal goals outside of work. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be a part of a team that care so deeply about the work we do and the people we do it with!
“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”
I’ve had so many opportunities at Bain to get involved in things I’m passionate about, both at the project level and within the broader community. On the project side, I’ve had the opportunity to advocate to be staffed on projects in industries and capabilities that genuinely excite me, which has made my day-to-day work incredibly fulfilling and engaging. Beyond client work, I’ve also had the chance to play a larger role in school recruiting as a School Team Lead and I am a proud Woman at Bain member. Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep building my own Bain by exploring opportunities to deepen my impact in the teams I am currently apart of as well as join new ones.
What should candidates know?
There is truly no such thing as a “perfect” consulting candidate. You don’t need to pursue a specific field of study, take certain classes, have a particular type of internship, or participate in certain extracurriculars to be successful in consulting recruiting. People come to Bain from so many different backgrounds, and I truly believe this diversity of experiences and perspectives is what makes our teams so special!
Don’t shy away from who you are to force yourself into a mold. Embrace what makes you unique, because those experience will not only help you stand out in recruiting but also make you a stronger consultant in the long run!
