The BCC is now known as BCN (Bain Capability Network) with its nodes across various geographies. BCN is an integral and largest unit of (ECD) Expert Client Delivery. ECD plays a critical role as it adds value to Bain's case teams globally by supporting them with analytics and research solutioning across all industries, specific domains for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence or Bain intellectual property. The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Manager – HR (Professional Development) will serve as the team lead for the PD function, overseeing end-to-end performance management, career development, and DEI initiatives for BCN staff. This individual will own the design, execution, and continuous improvement of PD processes while managing and mentoring a team of HR professionals. The role demands a strategic mindset combined with strong operational depth, and will work in close partnership with senior HR leadership, HRBPs and global PD stakeholders.

Performance Management & PD Cycles

  • Own and drive the end-to-end PD calendar — mid-year and annual cycles — including planning, execution, and post-cycle analysis.
  • Oversee preparation of data files, eligibility data, and cycle-specific inputs; ensure data integrity across all PD processes.
  • Lead and facilitate tech transition calibration discussions with business leaders and senior HR stakeholders.
  • Design and implement enhancements to the performance appraisal system to sustain a high-performance culture.

Compensation Benchmarking & Analytics

  • Lead the annual compensation benchmarking exercise — coordinate with vendors, analyze JDs, map market data, and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Design and maintain PD dashboards, MIS reports, and analytics to track key metrics, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Present insights and recommendations to HR leadership on PD health indicators and process gaps.

Talent Development & Learning Initiatives

  • Drive the mentor-mentee program and other career development initiatives across BCN India.
  • Lead facilitation of PD orientations for all new hires; co-deliver with the team as onboarding progresses.
  • Design and facilitate PD workshops for new supervisors — including content design, scenario refreshes, and delivery.

Process Excellence, Compliance and Initiatives

  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities across PD workflows; partner with relevant stakeholders for implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and global PD guidelines across all processes.
  • Support payroll inputs and related administrative functions in collaboration with relevant internal teams, as required.
  • Own the overall awards strategy to strengthen BCN's employer brand and external visibility.
  • Own the Annual DEI Dashboard, calendar planning, and post-event analysis. Lead and oversee end-to-end execution of large-scale DEI events. 

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals supporting the PD function.
  • Set clear goals and KPIs for team members; conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and developmental conversations.
  • Allocate work across the team to ensure timely delivery, quality output, and balanced workloads.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with Bain's values and HR standards.


ABOUT YOU

Education & Experience

  • MBA with 9+ years of HR experience, with a minimum of 2–3 years in a team leadership or managerial role.
  • Prior experience in a consulting, professional services, or fast-paced corporate environment strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in performance management, PD processes, and HR analytics.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; strong capability in building and maintaining MIS, dashboards, and reports.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and HR technology tools; exposure to automation or process improvement tools is a plus.
