Despite a growing number of wealthy individuals in India and China, charitable giving in those countries stands at just 0.6% and 0.1% of GDP, respectively.

Despite a growing number of wealthy individuals in India and China, charitable giving in those countries stands at just 0.6% and 0.1% of GDP, respectively, and only about 10% of that comes from individuals, with the rest provided by governments and foreign organizations.
