Charles Tillen

Charles Tillen is a partner in our Boston office and a member of our Private Equity practice, where he co-leads the Consumer Products and Retail Investing sector. He also leads our global Consumer Health practice.

Charles has significant experience serving leveraged buyout (LBO) sponsors on due diligence, portfolio analysis and fund strategy assignments. He has also worked with corporate clients on corporate, business unit, M&A and international strategy. His consumer products and retail experience spans pet food, ambient and frozen food, juvenile products, infant nutrition, sports nutrition, vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements (VMHS), over-the-counter (OTC) products, packaged goods and apparel. He has also served financial services clients across retail banking, insurance, asset management, mortgage banking and credit cards.

Prior to joining Bain in 1996, Charles was a second vice president in municipal investment banking at Smith Barney, focusing on infrastructure financing, particularly airport and airline finance. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts, earning distinction in economics and history.
