Evelyn MacLean is a member of our Energy & Natural Resources and Performance Improvement practices.
She has over 30 years of industry experience and has provided professional consulting services across various sectors, including oilfield services, executive search, and energy. In December 2023, Evelyn completed a three-year tenure leading the Workforce of the Future Taskforce for International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP). Her leadership culminated in the publication of a substantial and influential study report.
Prior to joining Bain, Evelyn worked at Hess Corporation, a global independent energy company, as the Head of Supply Chain and Chief Procurement Officer. Under her leadership, a strategic supplier relationship program was launched, and a digital supply chain was developed, significantly enhancing value through a more integrated buyer-seller ecosystem. She was also Vice President of Procurement & Supply Chain Management at BP’s Global Wells Organization from 2007 to 2015 and spent 18 years in key roles at Halliburton.
Evelyn was recognized as an Influential Woman of Energy in 2012. She is a staunch advocate for inclusion, integrating emotional intelligence into her leadership style.
Evelyn started her educational journey studying foundational studies in Law (LLB) at the University of Aberdeen and Business Studies, specializing in Psychology, from Inverness College, further reinforced by a Bachelor of Science in Strengths Based Management from Bellevue University.
Her pursuit of leadership excellence led her to complete an Executive Certificate in Management & Leadership from MIT Sloan and an Executive Masters in Consulting and Coaching for Change from INSEAD, France. Currently engaged in doctoral studies at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, she also completed the Organizational Transactional Analysis Foundation Year at The Berne Institute and achieved ICF Accredited Business and Personal Coaching certification from Barefoot Coaching (UK).
