WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join our Global Real Estate (GRE) team, partnering with colleagues across Bain’s global office network to create workplace environments that support collaboration, innovation, and an exceptional employee and client experience. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, architects, designers, furniture vendors, and project teams to deliver Bain’s workplace strategy and design vision across the firm's real estate portfolio.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As a Senior Specialist, Global Real Estate – Design, you’ll support the planning, design, and delivery of Bain’s workplace environments across multiple locations. You’ll help develop innovative, brand-aligned office spaces while ensuring consistency with Bain’s design standards and workplace strategy.
This role combines technical design expertise, project coordination, stakeholder management, and workplace innovation. You’ll contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from workplace planning and test fits through construction administration and post-occupancy support. The role also leverages AI-enabled tools to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Support Design Project Delivery
- Support office fit-outs and workplace projects across Bain’s real estate portfolio
- Develop pre-lease feasibility studies and test fits using Bain workplace standards
- Assist with workplace strategy initiatives and analysis of local teams’ ways of working
- Communicate and uphold Bain’s design standards with external consultants and project partners
- Review architectural drawings and documentation to ensure alignment with design standards
- Coordinate communication and approvals between local stakeholders and project teams
- Collaborate with architects, furniture vendors, fabricators, and product representatives
- Participate in construction administration, site visits, quality control reviews, and issue resolution
- Develop specifications for furniture, signage, artwork, finishes, and accessories
- Support implementation of Bain’s brand standards throughout workplace environments
- Create material palettes, inspiration boards, and design concepts
Support Global Real Estate Initiatives
- Contribute to workplace standards, design guidelines, procurement frameworks, and project playbooks
- Assist in maintaining GRE design resources and standards platforms
- Partner with global and regional teams to ensure consistency across Bain offices
- Identify opportunities to improve governance, sustainability, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness
Post-Occupancy & Operational Support
- Support development of office user guides and workplace documentation
- Coordinate with local stakeholders on ongoing design and workplace requests
- Provide support on workplace enhancements and post-occupancy improvements
ABOUT YOU
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field from an accredited institution
- 7+ years of experience in corporate interior design and workplace environments
- Strong experience managing end-to-end workplace design and documentation processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Microsoft Office
- Experience collaborating with project stakeholders, consultants, and vendors
- Strong knowledge of furniture systems, finishes, materials, specifications, and workplace standards
- Experience developing workplace strategies and analyzing utilization data
- Excellent graphics, visualization, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
- NCIDQ certification
- Experience conducting furniture RFPs
- Familiarity with building systems, MEP engineering, facilities management, and cost management
- Experience using AI-enabled tools to support design and project delivery

WORKING MODEL
This role follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least 2 days per week.
Travel is required. This position supports projects across multiple offices and may require travel throughout the Americas.
U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best-in-class benefits package.
Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:
- In New York City, NY, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between 105k and 126k placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training, and skill level.
- Annual discretionary performance bonus
- This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation
- 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date
