WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
This is a high-impact opportunity at the centre of Bain Australia's commercial engine. As Manager, Commercial Finance, you will be the trusted finance partner to our Australia Partner and Servant Leader portfolio, owning commercial strategy across pricing, profitability, pipeline, and case economics.
You will work directly with Partners and senior leaders to shape commercial decisions, drive pricing discipline, and connect day-to-day case economics to our broader planning and performance cycles. You will also serve as an escalation point and coach for the Analyst and Senior Analysts.
Working within a collaborative and high-performing Finance team, you will partner closely with Revenue and FP&A teams across the APAC region and globally, to ensure consistent numbers and actions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Support the Australia Practice and practice leadership to optimise capacity utilisation and price realisation
- Lead pricing strategy and approval recommendations across cases in scope, including driving complex commercial negotiations alongside our Pricing and Procurement experts
- Own RFP commercial responses end-to-end in partnership with Pricing, Practice, and case teams
- Drive case-level commercial discipline, including pricing scope management, write-offs, and fee adjustments, to protect and improve business profitability
- Provide forward-looking pipeline and revenue forecast insights to local and global leadership
- Prepare materials for steering committees and approval forums covering complex pricing and investment decisions
- Review and support strong outcomes across key case and practice KPIs, including DSO and price realisation
- Mentor Analysts and Senior Analysts and partner with Revenue and FP&A teams to ensure aligned numbers, consistent reporting, and coordinated action
ABOUT YOU

- A track record of leading pricing or commercial discipline initiatives with tangible business impact
- Strong business partnering skills, comfortable advising and influencing Partners and senior leaders with confidence and credibility
- Deep commercial finance expertise across pricing mechanics, margin analysis, and case-level profitability
- Strong storytelling ability to translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives, both written and verbal
- A coaching mindset, to mentor junior team members
- A detail-focused, 'zero defect' approach, combined with the ability to work calmly and proactively under pressure
- Proficiency in financial planning, prioritisation and time management skills
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field
- CPA, CA, CIMA, or MBA preferred, but not essential
