Dan was a founding partner and general manager of Bain Media Lab, a digital products business within the firm focused on addressing media and marketing use cases. In partnership, Bain Media Lab and Hive Media launched Mensio, a software product that applies computer vision and deep learning to video content. It also integrates TV viewership and diverse outcome data sets to bring “digital-like” insights, intelligence and planning to the TV advertising space.
Dan is currently the president of Hive, an AI company specialized in computer vision and deep learning, which powers innovators across industries to solve problems with practical AI solutions. The company operates the world's largest distributed workforce of people labeling data, enabling differentiated speeds of data-labeling and quality of model development. It also facilitates deployment across applications, including content moderation and brand safety, commercial detection, logo and brand detection, context and object detection, optical character recognition (OCR), speech-to-text and more.
Dan initially joined Bain in 2007 and worked in our Los Angeles, Paris and Australian offices.
He earned his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his B.S., with honors, from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
