WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

About the Commercial Excellence practice

Bain's B2B Commercial Excellence practice works with clients to develop a clear go-to-market (GTM) strategy: building an in-depth understanding of market opportunity, designing effective sales coverage and capacity models to attack that opportunity, and creating an industrialized sales execution capability to ensure commercial success. Coro's software and data solutions are an innovative and increasingly critical part of this approach. To learn more about Coro, visit https://www.coro.io/.

WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

About Coro

The Coro business unit brings together Bain's proprietary suite of software-as-a-service (SaaS) and data-as-a-service (DaaS) tools, including cloud-based software, online capability assessments, and advanced analytics, focused on enabling Commercial Excellence for B2B companies.

The Impact You'll Have

Bain's Commercial Excellence work helps B2B companies turn market opportunity into booked revenue, through sharper go-to-market strategy, better sales coverage and capacity, and industrialized execution. The analytics underneath that work are what make it credible, and they are what you will own.

We are hiring an Expert Senior Manager, Data Science, to lead data science delivery and methodology across Coro's product suite. You will set the analytical approach on our most complex client engagements, lead the teams that deliver them, and make the calls on modeling design, validation, and where a bespoke analysis should become a productized capability. This is a senior, client-facing role: you will work directly with Bain partners and client executives, and you will be the person expected to defend the methodology in the room.

These capabilities power Coro's product suite, such as MoneyMap®, which builds a granular, bottoms-up view of market opportunity, and the repeatable analytics workflows behind Bain's B2B go-to-market work, across challenges such as opportunity mapping, indirect channel growth, and profitability analysis. The work spans propensity and predictive scoring, TAM and market sizing, entity resolution and data matching across third-party sources, and GenAI-driven classification and enrichment at scale. The role also includes ownership of the analytics and delivery of our pricing products, including ProfitCube.

You will also help build the capability itself, through recruiting, coaching, and raising the standard of how the team works, in keeping with Bain's apprenticeship model. You will have opportunities to work with major AI ecosystem partners through Bain's partnerships, collaborating on real client deployments and helping shape how emerging capabilities are applied in commercial settings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a senior member of the Coro data science team, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of Coro data science solutions across multiple concurrent client engagements, owning scope, methodology, quality and pace, and stepping in personally where the analytical problem warrants it
  • Collaborate closely with and influence Bain case teams, partners and senior client executives, framing commercial problems and translating them into analytical approaches and clear business recommendations
  • Develop and deploy production machine learning and analytical models that drive Coro solutions, including propensity and predictive scoring, TAM and market opportunity sizing, customer segmentation, entity resolution and data matching, and enrichment pipelines built on third-party data sources
  • Own the analytics and delivery of Coro's pricing products, including ProfitCube
  • Own the technical direction for GenAI-enabled analytical workflows, including LLM-based classification, enrichment and validation, and set the standards the team applies to prompt design, evaluation and output quality assurance
  • Develop Coro intellectual property and identify new opportunities for data science to extend the product suite, ensuring that repeatable analyses become re-usable frameworks, models and components rather than one-off case work
  • Work with Coro product managers and practice leadership to shape the roadmap, prioritize analytical features, and design the optimal approach to product delivery
  • Act as an expert advisor in proposal, pre-sales and pitch discussions, scoping the analytical approach, sizing the work, and supporting commercial conversations with clients
  • Lead and develop on-shore and off-shore delivery teams, providing coaching on problem-solving, work planning and data science techniques, and engaging constructively in the mutual feedback process
  • Keep abreast of new and current data science techniques and technologies, and assess where they create real advantage for our clients and our products
  • Share learnings and drive adoption of best demonstrated practices across the Coro and wider data science community, and work together to create a great working environment that attracts other great data scientists
  • Lead recruiting and onboarding of team members as needed, and identify opportunities to support the growth and scaling of the Coro business unit
