Grant Dougans

Grant Dougans leads our strategy, energy regulation, and power generation capabilities in the Energy and Natural Resources sector. He helps senior executives connect the dots between long-term decarbonization aspirations and the world we live in today.

Grant has more than a decade of experience across the global and North American energy landscape, advising electric and gas utilities, competitive renewables businesses, emerging technology players, and infrastructure investors. His expertise includes low carbon growth strategies, capital planning, performance improvement, and policy/stakeholder strategy.

Example client engagements include:

• The multi-year transformation of a large utility across multiple aspects of its business, including strategy, capital planning, regulatory and stakeholder engagement, and operational improvements;
• The renewables/transmission/DER market entry strategy for a regional infrastructure HoldCo seeking to build a multi-billion dollar asset business; and
• The performance improvement of a large power generation fleet, driving sustained, multi-year improvements in cost exceeding 10%.

In addition to his client work, Grant leads our Energy Transition Forum, a unique multidisciplinary forum for experience sharing and capability building for senior executives driving the Energy Transition.

Prior to joining us, Grant worked as a policy advisor in the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change. He holds an MBA from London Business School.
