Tamar Dor-Ner

Tamar Dane Dor-Ner is the managing partner of our Boston office, overseeing all local firm activity. She is also a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.

She previously worked in our New York, San Francisco and Stockholm offices.

More than a decade ago, Tamar founded our Brand Positioning & Strategy group and has long served as a leading member of our Private Equity, Retail and Customer Strategy & Marketing practices.

Throughout more than two decades with us, Tamar has led hundreds of diligence efforts, focusing on Retail and Consumer Products and typically evaluating brand strength, strategy and resilience. She previously led our PE retail investing in the Americas.

She has also led multiple engagements supporting corporate retail clients through transformative Mergers and Acquisitions, from diligence to integration and synergy capture.

Beyond transactions, Tamar's corporate retail work has been underpinned by the generation of new-to-world customer insights and their profitable application in brand strategy, product and category management, pricing and merchandising. Her core clients have spanned grocery, club, drug and mass retail, as well as the restaurant and apparel sectors.

Tamar graduated with master’s and bachelor’s degrees, magna cum laude, from Northwestern University. While there, she was named a Weinberg and James Alton James Scholar. She serves on the Boston Preparatory Charter School Foundation board and the board of Cradles to Crayons.

She lives in Boston with her husband Dan and two young sons, Felix and Gideon.
