Tamar Dor-Ner is the managing partner of Bain & Company's Boston office and a member of the firm's Private Equity, Retail and Customer Strategy & Marketing practices. She is a founder and leader of Bain's Brand Positioning & Strategy group.
Tamar has more than 15 years of experience in consulting and, since joining Bain in 1999, has worked in the firm's Boston, New York, San Francisco and Stockholm offices.
Within Bain's Private Equity practice, Tamar has led more than 100 diligences, mostly in retail and consumer products, and in many cases has evaluated brand strength, strategy and resilience.
Tamar also leads Bain's retail investing team in the Americas region. She has built years of experience in retail growth strategy, pricing and merchandising, customer segmentation and brand positioning, store-level operations and supply chain and footprint optimization. Tamar has additional experience in apparel and footwear, restaurants and specialty concepts as well as discount and grocery.
Tamar graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University with Bachelor and Masters degrees and high honors in Intellectual History. She was also a Weinberg and James Alton James Scholar.
