Stan Pace is an expert in the firm's Airlines, Corporate Transformation, Technology and Private Equity practices. He originally founded and led Bain's Airlines practice and has served in many of the firm's most senior governance positions, including as a member of Bain's global executive board.
Since joining Bain in 1978, Stan has advised the senior teams of organizations across a wide range of industries, including airlines, consumer products, aerospace and defense, private equity, computers and semiconductors. Within these spheres, he has primarily focused on corporate strategy, performance improvement, strategy and turnaround management.
In 1997, Stan left the firm for two years to lead the turnaround of American Trans Air (ATA) as CEO. At the time, ATA was a troubled, billion-dollar publicly traded airline. During his tenure at ATA, the organization's cash balances tripled, profitability was restored and stock price ultimately rose over 500%.
Stan holds an MBA, with high distinction, from Harvard Business School. He also holds a bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, from which he graduated as valedictorian.
