Ben Clemens Balzer

Ben is a Partner at Bain & Company in Singapore, where he leads the firm's Wealth & Asset Management practice for Asia-Pacific and the interlock between Bain's Financial Services and Private Equity practices across the region. 

Ben works across all financial services sub-sectors, including retail and commercial banking, insurance and bancassurance, wealth management, asset management, payments, capital markets, fintech and digital assets. His work with financial institutions covers corporate and business unit strategy, growth and distribution, operating model and technology design, digital and AI-enabled transformation, cost and productivity, new business and venture launches, and restructuring.

Ben has advised on more than 25 large financial services M&A transactions, including +US$10 billion transactions. Across his career he has advised on more than 300 private equity transactions covering due diligence, value creation and exit realization. He has been based in Singapore since 2012, having begun his career in London. 

Prior to joining Bain, Ben founded and led the Private Equity practice of another leading consulting firm in Asia-Pacific where he primarily focused on advising investors on opportunities in Financial Services. He was also a cofounder of a private equity co-investment fund focused on Financial Services.

Ben studied at the Rotterdam School of Management, the Netherlands, where he graduated cum laude. Ben is an alumnus of the German National Academic Foundation ('Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes').

Outside of work, Ben is passionate about designing and building furniture in his workshop.
