Laurent-Pierre Baculard is a partner and director in Bain & Company's Paris office. He leads the firm's Digital Transformations practice in EMEA.
He joined Bain in 2002 and has since managed more than 150 major projects.
Laurent-Pierre's digital experience covers strategic transformation roadmap development, digital customer experience, digital disruption strategies, operations improvement, big data, and technology and people transformations for clients in the consumer products, telecom, hospitality and travel, services and utilities and private equity industries.
Laurent-Pierre's experience in the telecom, media and technology (TMT) industries covers a continuum of issues from CEO level to line management for telecom players (fix, mobiles and internet communications operators), media and content actors (TV broadcast channels, magazine and newspaper groups) and technology groups enabling the communications and media space (telecom and IP equipment, hardware devices and CPEs, software).
He leads engagements for clients across Europe, the Middle East and Asia covering a broad range of issues from strategic analysis to operational performance, technology shifts (2G/3G/4G, cloud, data and content, multi-play convergence of access, services and content, digital) as well as market disruptions (value chains, new players), customer value and EBITDA improvement, marketing, innovation, branding and communication, distribution activities, customer services, network strategy, cost management, organization design and process reengineering, M&A and industrial partnerships, procurement strategy, turnarounds and PMI orchestration.
Laurent-Pierre has also led several turnarounds and transformations upon new CEOs' arrivals across industries.
He is a former member of Bain's worldwide Board of Directors and previously served as the EMEA TMT practice leader.
Laurent-Pierre led an industry career for four years at France Telecom Mobiles, known as Orange, which he joined in 1992 to lead their distribution channels division in Paris. He then led several projects in the telecom and tech industries at a different consulting firm before joining Bain.
Laurent-Pierre graduated from ESSEC (school of management in Paris) in 1989.
