WHAT YOU’LL DO:

This role will lead Market Reputation efforts in the Nordics and be responsible for developing and executing a marketing strategy that strengthens Bain’s reputation in market, in partnership with office leadership and aligned with firm strategy & commercial objectives.

The role will focus on increasing Bain awareness among senior executives and high-value business communities on topics relevant across clients; reinforcing Bain’s perception as the leading consulting partner to ambitious business leaders; and employer of choice for the best business talent. 

As a senior marketing advisor, you will be expected to add value by providing marketing guidance to the Nordic leadership team on key issues and driving local initiatives to execution from start to finish. The ideal candidate will collaborate with other marketing teams and functions to achieve firm-wide marketing objectives. As part, this individual will coach and develop marketing team members and optimize investment across channels.  Finally, you will build a culture of innovation to continually evolve our Nordic marketing strategy.

  • Develop Market Reputation strategy for the Nordics
    1. Build marketing strategy and define supporting initiatives in collaboration with Nordic leadership to build brand awareness and develop relationships among senior business leaders and talents
    2. Develop view on optimal mix of topics/activities to further Market Reputation effectiveness 
    3. Proactively suggest ways to collaborate with and leverage Practice Marketing, Account Marketing, and Centre of Excellence initiatives, resources, and tools
  • Manage the budget, annual planning process, and ongoing process improvement 
    1. Incorporate test and learn approach to inform programme evolution
  • Identify, prioritise, and project manage marketing campaigns and supporting activities 
    1. Leverage and adapt global and regional campaigns, as relevant
    2. Identify relevant 3rd party partnerships, sponsorships, and conferences & events 
    3. Manage local partner and vendor relationships
    4. Own and leverage digital assets and channels: web content, partner profiles, LinkedIn bios, content distribution, etc. 
    5. Together with Global PR team, develop proactive and reactive media strategies to ensure Bain is top of mind with key local and international media.
  • Plan and execute Market Reputation activities, to potentially include:
    1. Digital Marketing and Social Media: Oversee local digital content and campaigns that leverage global efforts to effectively reach target audiences, develop and distribute local social media content
      1. PR & External Communications: Manage PR activities to establish and grow Bain’s presence in influential business media, manage collaboration with general media and premium publications in all four Nordic countries. Help frontline leaders build a public profile focused on expertise. Manage participation in relevant market studies and rankings.
        1. Conferences & Events: Design and execute relevant events to support global, regional and local campaigns
        2. Editorial: Tailor global content to local community needs, distribute in local market(s), and manage any local agencies and providers 
        3. Brand & Creative: Adapt content to the Nordic business community, create/edit/distribute, and strengthen reputation and brand perception across the Nordics.
        4. Digital Mailings and CRM: Use firm email marketing offerings to reach imperative segments, manage and maintain local contacts/influencers 
        5. Alumni: Develop and oversee local alumni segmentation and engagement strategy, including communications and events 
      2. Develop and deploy team resources in support of strategy, helping to prioritise and provide input where needed to team member
      3. Ensure approach consistent with marketing ways of working, leveraging technologies, assets, and expertise across the organisation
      4. Provide coaching as a subject matter expert, professional development and ensure sense of affiliation
      5. Demonstrate Bain operating principles 
  • Work collaboratively with other Marketing functions to ensure plans are aligned/complementary to achieve firm goals
  • Manage collection of data on local market intelligence, track performance against defined targets, and evaluate performance on an ongoing basis
  • Represent Marketing within the local office/cluster, and represent office/cluster within wider Marketing network

ABOUT YOU:

Required Expertise

  • Postgraduate degree in business/marketing/ communications/social sciences, focus on marketing
  • 8-10 years of relevant B2B marketing experience
  • 3-5 years of people management experience, successfully developing others, thriving a coaching role
  • Proven track record in similar role
  • Broad expertise and experience in B2B marketing programs and processes
  • Ability to proactively conceive and suggest new approaches and solutions, influence senior leaders on key strategic issues
  • Provide advice to regional marketing leadership on programs and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, multi-tasking and prioritising as needed
  • Client-centric mindset
  • Experience of working with 3rd party providers and external agencies & vendors
  • Ability to understand and work with consulting content and thought leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
  • Role model in Bain Operating Principles
  • Proficient in English

Preferred Expertise

  • Consulting industry experience preferred
  • Professional services marketing experience, or other sector(s) with content marketing focus will also be considered
  • Experience in pr, digital marketing, organic and paid social media
  • Media agency experience, or previous experience building & executing media strategies in a B2B context
  • Experience leading employer branding initiatives
  • Visible within office and viewed as positive influence on culture and morale
  • Leader on team, role model for professionalism, experience-sharing opportunities
  • Plays active leadership role as mentor/coach to others in the Nordics
