Dr. Eric Zayer leads our Automotive & Mobility practice for EMEA. Additionally, he is the vice leader of the Advanced Manufacturing & Services practice for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

He has more than 15 years of management consulting experience, advising clients primarily in the automotive industry. Eric specializes in large-scale transformations and has extensive expertise across the full automotive value chain — from strategy and R&D to sales, service, and customer strategy.

His project portfolio includes several major sales and service transformations for leading German passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturers, resulting in significant improvements in revenue and profitability.

Beyond his work with OEMs, Zayer also advises companies across the broader mobility ecosystem — including engineering service providers, rental companies, dealers, and EV charging solution providers.

He is an expert in leveraging advanced analytics to help clients steer their sales and after-sales operations more effectively, having developed multiple smart, data-driven tools to enable this.

In addition to his client work, Zayer leads Bain’s BEST Case Experience initiative in the DACH region, aimed at strengthening Bain’s culture and values.

He holds both doctoral and graduate business degrees from the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management.
