Peter Hanbury is a member of the firm's Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) and Performance Improvement practices, and former leader of the Manufacturing Excellence practice in the Americas.

Peter leads our work globally on Operations and Cost Improvement for Technology clients. With over 20 years at Bain, he has supported clients across the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Peter works broadly across the technology industry, with a specific focus on tech hardware, data centers, and semiconductors. He advises leading companies on operational excellence, strategy, sustainability, and cost transformation and has deep expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, supply chains, and supplier ecosystems. He also leads our view on key technology topics, including semiconductor shortages, digital infrastructure, the AI supercycle, data center construction, and humanoid robotics.

Peter is frequently quoted across the industry, including in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Time, Fortune, Bloomberg, CNBC, and Nikkei Asia.

As former leader of our Manufacturing Excellence practice in the Americas, Peter also works across manufacturing-focused industries, including tech, industrials, MedTech, consumer packaged goods, and energy. His experience encompasses manufacturing and related topics, including planning, procurement, four-walls manufacturing, re-shoring, forward and reverse logistics, information technology, research and development, and digital and advanced analytics enablers.

Peter also supports our work for financial sponsors on topics in the technology and manufacturing spaces.

Peter graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in economics and government and earned an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters skiing, hiking, biking, and otherwise enjoying the great outdoors.
