WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will report to the Senior Manager, HR & Talent and partner closely with local functional professional leadership, Program Management and Staffing teams, Global, Regional and Local HR teams, Global Mobility & Immigration teams, the Employee Risk Management Team, the Benefits Team, and local office leaders. As the primary HR Business Partner for the Dallas office, you will serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders while collaborating across Bain's HR organization to deliver a consistent employee experience.


WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

The Manager, Human Resources sits within the Local Human Resources team and provides hands-on HR support and partnership for the Dallas office general consulting employees and other local talent groups.

The Local HR Manager provides hands-on HR support and partnership for the Dallas office general consulting employees and other local talent groups. This role is responsible for understanding and execution of the local employee programs, managing employee relations and risk, and ensuring consistent delivery of Bain's people processes in collaboration with the Senior Manager, HR & Talent, Staffing, and regional HR colleagues. This position requires sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to build credibility with employees and leaders at all levels. The HR Manager acts as a trusted advisor and liaison between employees, office leadership, and global HR teams, ensuring a high-quality employee experience across the lifecycle.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Local Human Resources

  • Serve as the primary HR Business Partner for general consulting staff in the Dallas office, including other talent groups as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance on program eligibility, performance outcomes, individual progression, LOAs, and career development.
  • Partner closely with staffing/program management and local leadership to support employee experience, development, and retention.
  • Ensure alignment with global policies and processes in accordance with local HR guidelines and Senior Manager, HR.
  • Provide coaching and advice to managers on handling sensitive or complex employee issues with fairness and consistency.
  • Responsible for reviewing and processing I-9s for all new hires and international transfers.

Employee Relations & Risk Management

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations concerns; manage investigations and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk matters to the Senior Manager as appropriate.
  • Participate in the Office Situational Response Team, supporting incident management and policy application.

Performance & Talent Management

  • Partner with program management on performance input reviews and rating processes, reviewing feedback forms (case reviews, PD Reviews, etc.).
  • Work closely with staffing and program management on all performance outcome processes.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager and staffing to facilitate ratings, promotion, and compensation processes.
  • Provide clear communication to managers and employees about review timelines, expectations, and outcomes.
  • Support onboarding and integration for new hires and leadership transfers within the cohorts.

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Help coordinate and execute engagement and inclusion initiatives that strengthen community and belonging in the Dallas office, as needed.
  • Participate in class meetings, pulse check reviews, and employee feedback discussions to gather insights and share with HR leadership, as needed.
  • Support local events, trainings, and programs that reinforce Bain's culture and values.

Operational & Team Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach the HR Specialist, ensuring high-quality execution of HR transactions and strong service delivery.
  • Collaborate with regional and global HR teams on mobility, benefits, and Workday-related actions.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee data and documentation.
  • Support ad hoc HR projects and initiatives as assigned by the Senior Manager, HR.

ABOUT YOU

Experience

  • 6–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience with comprehensive knowledge across functional HR disciplines.
  • Experience in a professional services environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Workday is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an office start-up environment is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or a Business-related discipline.

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong process skills with exceptional follow-up and follow-through.

  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with the highest levels of professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain's best-in-class benefits package (details listed below).

Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:

  • In Texas, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $104,500 and $125,500.
  • Annual discretionary performance bonus.
  • This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation.
  • 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date.
