Benjamin Hughes is a member of our Sustainability and Responsibility and Energy and Natural resources practices.
His work primarily focuses on energy transition topics, focused on business strategy and innovation. This work has included energy transition strategy and new business unit stand-up for global O&G company’s new energy and carbon businesses, new business launch for a major Australian retailer, and various commercial diligences across manufacturing and B2B services industries.
In addition to his client work Ben leads our internal Australian ESG training program and co-leads our Australian MBA recruiting efforts.
Outside of Bain, Ben has broad energy experience across new product development (Tesla and Advanced Microgrid Solutions - now owned by Fluence), investing (Goldman Sachs) and engineering (RES - Australia). Ben holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a bachelor's in renewable energy engineering and economics from the University of New South Wales.
