Matthew Waterbury

Matthew Waterbury is an expert in the firm’s Private Equity practice.

Matthew specializes in advising private equity and hedge fund clients on add-on, commercial and strategic due diligence, deal generation and screening, sector screen and review, portfolio improvement and firm strategy. He has worked with clients across a range of industries, including advanced manufacturing & services, consumer products, energy & natural resources, healthcare, retail, telecommunications, media and technology.

Prior to joining Bain, Matthew served as the portfolio manager for a fundamental long/short equity and debt investment fund.

He holds an MBA from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business, where he was named a Tuck Scholar. He also holds a bachelor’s degree, with highest honors, from Harvard University.
