Who you will work with

The Commercial Excellence, Coro CoE within BCN focuses on delivering data-driven solutions to drive sustainable, organic growth in the B2B domain through advanced analytics, data operations, and visualization. Deeply plugged into CORO – the SaaS product solutions within Commercial Excellence. Building deep expertise in Alteryx, Tableau, Python and ML/Data Analytics Only COE with a dedicated Automation team for driving innovation.

The BizMap DataOps team is responsible for ensuring the BizMap platform operates at scale with reliable, high-quality data pipelines and proactive monitoring frameworks. Sitting alongside the Data Steward, the team designs, implements, and maintains automated workflows that ingest, validate, and standardize external vendor data, ensuring it is always clean, timely, and usable for Bain’s case teams and products.

As a DataOps Engineer, you will own the technical quality control processes, partner with engineering to build automated checks, and continuously monitor ingestion and matching frameworks. This role requires a mix of hands-on data operations expertise, quality engineering, and problem-solving, with the goal of making BizMap the most trusted business data directory at scale.

About you

/For Under-Graduate : 3–5 years of experience, For Post-Graduate : 0-3 years of experience in data operations, data engineering, or data quality assurance.
/Strong experience with data pipelines, monitoring frameworks, and QA workflows.
/Familiarity with entity resolution, data matching, and validation techniques.
/Extensive experience working with large data sets, particularly Snowflake and SQL querying.
/Hands-on experience in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, workflow orchestration tools).
/Experience with data modelling and normalisation for building star schemas
High-level competence in Alteryx, Tableau, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
/Strong familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure is essential.
/Ability to design and run quality tests for schema changes, anomalies, and matching performance.
/Strong attention to detail, with a mindset of proactive quality control vs. reactive issue fixing.
/Collaborative team player who thrives working with data stewards, engineers, and product managers.


What you’ll do 

Data Quality Operations

/Design and execute monthly refresh testing, defining rules for automated quality checks across vendor feeds.
/Proactively monitor ingested data to catch errors early (e.g., null thresholds, schema shifts, anomalies).
/Build and maintain matching quality reports for every refresh, tracking metrics on resolution accuracy and vendor coverage.
/Perform randomized quality checks to validate matching outcomes.

Logic & Signal Validation

/Define and maintain signal logic documentation and versioning (firmographics, revenue proxies, workforce signals, etc.).
/Collaborate with the Data Steward to test and validate new signals from external vendors or internal enrichment.
/Develop testing frameworks to check correctness of signals after each refresh or match run.

Monitoring & Automation

/Develop and maintain a monitoring framework for ingestion pipelines to ensure timeliness, data completeness, and format compliance.
/Collaborate with engineering to automate quality checks and integrate alerts into workflows.
/Support schema change detection and remediation, ensuring stability across pipeline updates.
/Implement data anomaly detection processes to proactively flag unexpected vendor or system issues.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

/Work closely with the Data Steward to align operational checks with vendor management, signal logic, and data governance.
/Partner with Bain’s platform engineering team to optimize ingestion pipelines and quality assurance automation.
/Document and maintain a data catalogue for all vendor sources and signals, ensuring transparency and reusability.
/Lead efforts to refine workflows for efficiency while balancing automation with manual QC where needed.
