Department Overview 

The global PPK group is a key function, which helps to identify, create, and leverage “best of Bain” content, expertise, and also helps Bain practice areas develop commercial strategies.

Position Summary

The Reporting & Analytics Sr. Associate (GSO) position is based at Bain’s Gurugram GBS office. The team-let is responsible for providing research and business intelligence support to firm’s Global Strategy & Operations team, one of the many teams that’re part of office of Bain’s Worldwide Managing Partner. 

Sr. Associates plays a critical role on the team.  They own discrete pieces of ongoing projects with full ownership on quality and deadlines. Sr. Associates demonstrate an ability to quickly ramp-up on new analytics leveraging their expertise and also connecting the dots from experience they gain over time. They communicate effectively with stakeholders demonstrating the ability to push for value.  Sr. Associates also grow into effective coach and mentors to support junior team members on the team with day to day tasks, as and when needed. 

Essential Functions

Data gathering, analysis and synthesis

• Secondary research to gather data about the key consulting players 
• Analysis and synthesis to produce key insights for the stakeholders
• Suggest alternate, new ways/platforms to find better quality data 
• Producing zero defect research

Applies and builds technical expertise of Data Visualization and Data Analysis (EDA) tools like Alteryx, Tableau, etc.

• Suggesting ways to automate processes in order to make them more efficient
• Comfortable with advance excel formulae and complex functions
• Ability to building new workflows and dashboards using Alteryx (or other EDA tools) and Tableau (or other visualization tools) respectively
• Refreshing and maintaining dashboards on Tableau, along with optimization of Alteryx workflow
• Knowledge of revenue, pipeline and other Bain data sources for getting the job done

• Uses answer-first approach to frame the problem, manage the work and define next steps
• Applies business judgment and appropriate prioritization
• Provide significant direction and support to resolve complex issues to junior team members

High impact support to stakeholders within and outside of PPK

• Working directly with the stakeholder
• Translate user requirements into required output
• Perform recurring tasks independently
• Effectively manage client and team meetings

Qualifications

• First class undergraduate from leading and reputed colleges with 2-4 years of relevant work experience OR Post-graduate from a top-tier institute/university with strong academic records with 0.6-2 years’ experience
• Relevant experience working with large, multi-national organization
• Understanding of the research/consulting business environment, language, and processes
• Strong secondary research skills with ability to work on competitive intelligence studies, market sizing and estimation
• Knowledge of working with online journals, websites, reports and paid databases 
• Good data interpretation skills 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint required along with working knowledge of data analytics software such as Alteryx, Tableau etc. as well as passion for automation of processes/reporting using these tools
• Ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple competing priorities and drive projects to completion under tight deadlines
